About the artist

Moe Asif

Restarting art after the age of forty was not easy. The last time I remember creating art, I was in my school years, sixteen years old. Since then, I have done a few creative things, but nothing serious. Since the beginning of 2025, I picked up a pencil and paintbrushes and just started. Making many mistakes and seeking the skills I’m good at, I finally found that abstract art is my thing. I thought abstract art wouldn't be a thing, but it is. The great thing about abstract art is that there are little to no rules, and it’s totally free flowing, and I can do whatever I want. Currently, I create artwork in two mediums: watercolour and acrylic. I sometimes use ink in my watercolour so it kinda becomes mixed media sometimes.

I thought I’d be slammed for my efforts, so I kept it a secret right up until I joined Facebook groups and briefly mentioned my artwork. Fearing that others would laugh, make fun and give me negative feedback, it was the opposite. People loved my work and encouraged me to continue, and to sell my work, which is what I’m now doing. All sales must go through this website. I am also following the artist's rule, never make the same artwork twice, only once. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

I hope that in return for purchasing my artwork, my buyers will receive a piece that speaks to them, moulds naturally into their living space or whatever space they choose to place the artwork. And, somehow gives them a sense of calm, peace or excitement.
